Mary “Pat” (Kulasa) Donelan, 87, of Centerville, MA, died peacefully on February 12.

Born and raised in Akron, OH, Pat and her late husband, John Edward Donelan, moved to the Cape in the 1960s and owned The Captain Nickerson House, a B&B in Centerville. Following her husband’s sudden death in 1978, Pat became a mortgage originator and officer for several local banks, was active in community events, and loved her family, friends, and travel.

She is survived by her cherished son and daughter-in-law, John and Vicky Donelan, of Hyannis, her sister-in-law Eileen Donelan of Northborough, Maryellen Donelan Lacroix and her husband Frank of Osterville, and numerous nephews, nieces, grand-nephews and grand-nieces, cousins, and friends.

A Little About Pat

Growing up in the city, Pat loved going to the theatre, attending Cleveland Indians baseball games, and spending time with her three aunts attending fashion show lunches.

An Interview with KristenHarnnisch.com

Pat is classy, graceful, strong and quick to share a story. Over her 75 years, she has survived the sudden death of her husband, single motherhood, two hip replacements, and brain surgery (now 2!). In her usual self-deprecating way, she only agreed to this interview if I promised “not to make her sound like Mother Teresa because [she] still use a few swear words now and then.”
